WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Software Engineer Intern will join our development team for the Summer 2027 internship program and gain hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications using Microsoft technologies.
As an intern, you will contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of a content authoring, publishing, and delivery platform that enables content creators to build digital learning products, including e-books, tutorials, assessments, and simulations. You will collaborate with experienced software engineers, participate in the software development lifecycle, and gain exposure to real-world business applications in a fast-paced, for-profit environment.
This opportunity is ideal for students who are passionate about software development and are pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. We are primarily seeking rising Juniors and Seniors who are interested in applying their technical skills while gaining valuable industry experience.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME
- Develop and support enhancements and new functionality for the ATI Nursing platform using cutting edge technology, including Angular, .Net Core, EF Core, C# .Net 6.0, MVC, WebAPI, JSON, SQL, Kubernetes and Docker
- Work closely with Technical Product Owners, Technical Product Managers, Business Product Owners, and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver business impacting projects
- Capable of working collaboratively with team members on different teams and in different locations
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting as needed to support production issues
- Be willing to support deployments outside of work hours and participate in an on-call rotation
- Actively participate in all relevant agile ceremonies for each project iteration
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field
- Exposed to the concepts of an Agile based development methodology or similar formal methodologies are required
- Knowledge through coursework of the following programming languages: MS C#, JavaScript, MVC, SQL, HTML5, CSS 3.0, and experience with a MVVM framework (e.g. Angular) preferred
- Demonstrated organizational and teamwork skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to participate in collaborative development projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to translate a business scenario into a technical solution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
HIRING RANGE
The current full-time, annualized base pay hiring range for this role is -. In accordance with applicable state laws, we are providing the expected pay range for this position. Individual compensation will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, current business needs and local market factors. Most regular, full-time employees are eligible to participate in an Ascend incentive bonus or sales plan.
